RWTH Aachen University is an Integrated Interdisciplinary University of Science and Technology located in the cross-border region of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Ute Habel received her PhD in Psychology at the University of Tübingen. She did her postdoctoral lecture qualification in Vienna, Austria and has become professor for neuropsychological gender studies in 2009 at the Department of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics of the Medical Faculty, RWTH Aachen University. She is head of section Neuropsychology in this department as well as the Director at the INM 10, Forschungszentrum Jülich – Joint JARA-BRAIN Institute: Brain Structure-Function Relationships of RWTH Aachen and Forschungszentrum Jülich. Her research focus lies on neurobiological correlates of emotion, specifically aggression and impulsivity in the recent years and social cognition as well as gender differences in healthy individuals and psychiatric patients. She is speaker of the International Research Training Group funded by the DFG in collaboration with the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA “The Neuroscience of Modulating Aggression and Impulsivity in Psychopathology”. Since 2018 she has been elected Vice Rector for International Affairs at RWTH Aachen University.
Malte Brettel holds a degree in engineering and business administration from the Technical University of Darmstadt. In 1996, he received a doctoral degree and in 2003, a post-doctoral Habilitation degree from the WHU Koblenz. Since 2003, Malte Brettel has been Professor of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship at RWTH Aachen University. He is co-founder of a successful e-commerce start-up, where he also acted as managing director. In addition to founding several businesses, he has extensive practical experience as a consultant, both for start-up firms and for established companies. Since 2014, he holds the office as Vice-Rector for Industry and Business Relations and is therefore responsible for the extension of the University’s collaborative activities with business and industry as well as with edX. This includes research and knowledge transfer activities, the provision of continuing education opportunities, collaborative industrial research, and the promotion of entrepreneurial processes including the necessary preparation.
