From August 14th to 16th, 2024, the 15th TCU International e-Learning Conference 2024: (IEC2024) “Lifelong Learning Transformation: Entering the World of Artificial Intelligence in Education Era” was successfully held in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was hosted by Thailand Cyber University Project (TCU), Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance (GMA), XuetangX, Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, Naresuan University, Khon Kaen University, Suranaree University of Technology, Burapha University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Walailak University, Prince of Songkla University.
Dr. Thapanee Thammetar, Director of Thailand Cyber University Project, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand shared the Thai MOOC Story: The evolution of Thai MOOC initiative and its role in shaping the future of education in Thailand.

Thai MOOC and XuetangX representatives then launched ceremony for Course Sharing and Enhanced Collaboration. By enabling the cross-cultural educational exchange, both party were more determined to break down educational barriers, promote knowledge sharing, and ultimately contribute to the development of a more interconnected and inclusive global learning community.
In the “Asia Pacific MOOC Revolution: Shaping the Future of Learning” topic session, Dr. Wang Yao, Director of the International Office at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Professor Ye Jin, Vice Director of key laboratory of Guangxi province, Guangxi University delivered the interactive keynote speeches. Dr. Wang Yao shared Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications’s practices on reshaping Innovative Talent Cultivation Models in Information Technology. Meanwhile, Professor Ye Jin introduced the AI-integrated online courses in New Agricultural and Construction talent training.

In addition, a parallel session titled “Universities and Online Education Leader Forum” was held alongside the main conference, cohosted by Mr. Brian Li, Senior Manager of Tsinghua University Online Education Center and Associate Professor Anuchai Theeraroungchaisri, Deputy Director of Thailand Cyber University Project Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand. The forum provided a platform for university leaders and online education experts to discuss the future of digital learning, share best practices, explore collaborative opportunities and foster international partnerships to address common challenges in online higher education.

Many members of the GMA also attended this conference, contributing their expertise as speakers and further attesting to the high academic quality of the conference and international collaboration between GMA members.
