Online learning has become the new normal due to the pandemic. As much as the change has brought new challenges to higher education institutions, it has also brought them new opportunities to reinvent their educational offerings.
When MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) started to become daily practices, the future of learning was shaped from a fresh perspective. Tsinghua University and UNESCO IITE (Institute for Information Technologies in Education) are jointly hosting the 2020 Global MOOC Conference, where experts in higher education from all around the world will gather to explore new ways of online learning.
In response to global educational challenges and opportunities presented by the age of the internet, virtual interconnectivity, and the ongoing global pandemic, the 2020 Global MOOC Conference aims to bring together universities and online education platforms across all geographical regions at this unprecedented time.
The Conference aims to promote good practices and resources of MOOC development and online education,explore the role of technology in shaping the future of higher education,encourage international cooperation in educational technology innovation, and lay a foundation for the joint promotion of the progress towards SDG 4.
The 2020 Global MOOC Conference will be held on December 11, 2020, from 20:00 to 22:30 Beijing local time (GMT +8).
Apart from the main conference, four sub-forums will be held from 9th to 10th Dec. The event will be hosted online and offline simultaneously to facilitate participation by those who can’t be on campus in Beijing.
